At McQuaig, we are committed to inclusive, accessible assessment experiences. The Word Survey is a personality-based assessment used across the full talent lifecycle — from hiring to leadership development and team effectiveness. We aim to ensure that all candidates and employees can complete the Word Survey with ease, regardless of ability.
Accessibility Features
The Word Survey is delivered via a digital platform that supports:
- Screen reader compatibility (e.g., NVDA, VoiceOver)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- High-contrast visuals and scalable text
- Simple and clear instructions
- Mobile and desktop accessibility
The test is fully self-guided and does not require supervision.
Assessment Format
The Word Survey uses a forced-ranking format in which participants review four words per question and rank them from most to least like them.
- No written responses are required
- There is no audio, video, or multimedia content
- There is no time limit for completing the assessment
Alternate Formats and Accommodations
The Word Survey is available in both online and paper-based formats and can be administered in multiple languages.
Because the assessment is untimed, many common accessibility concerns related to pacing are inherently addressed. For candidates who prefer or require an alternative format (e.g., paper-based or reader-assisted), accommodations can be arranged by the organization administering the assessment.
A Note on Neurodiversity
The Word Survey is a self-report personality assessment. As such, it captures how individuals view their own behaviour and preferences — including those who identify as neurodivergent.
While neurodivergence may influence how certain traits are expressed, these results still represent a valid reflection of personality.
We encourage customers to consider each individual's profile in context and to use assessment results as one component of a broader, inclusive decision-making process.
Requests for Accommodation
McQuaig does not collect or store accessibility or medical information. All accommodation requests should be directed to the organization that provided access to the assessment. That organization is responsible for handling accessibility support in accordance with applicable local laws and internal policies.
