Our customers often ask us “how else can we use this tool?” in other words, how can they get more value? We love this question because our assessments can be applied across your entire talent management cycle and our goal is to help you to maximize your investment. To simplify the answer, we have developed The 4 Levels of McQuaig Mastery. This is a guideline to help you identify where you are at in your implementation process and where you can go to realize the full value of the system.
Level 1: Develop and Maintain Job Profiles
A job profile is a set of personality traits required for an individual to be successful in a position. It is the ideal personality for a job. Customers in level 1 develop and maintain job profiles for every position that they hire for.

Level 2: Assess Candidate Personality and Mental Agility
Customers in level 2 assess candidates in 2 ways:
- Personality in comparison to the job profile: Customers in this level send their candidates the Word Survey and then generate the Assessment of Job Fit section of the Word Survey Report or the Job Fit Interview Guide. Both reports will state whether the candidate came out as a Strong Match, Potential Match, or Does Not Match to the job profile as well as provide interview questions to probe deeper. However, the Job Fit Interview Guide includes additional features such as an interview checklist, rating scales and notes sections.
- Mental agility: Customers in this level send their candidate the Mental Agility Test. The Mental Agility Test measures an individual's speed of thought, general mental agility and several key components of "intelligence" against job requirements. Mental agility indicates the ability of an individual to think, learn and quickly absorb new information, systems and processes. It assesses vocabulary, verbal reasoning skills and the ability to perform simple mathematical functions.

Level 3: Provide Employees With Their Self-Development Report
Customers in level 3 use McQuaig beyond the hiring phase by providing employees with their Self-Development Report. The Self-Development Report is designed to assist employees in the creation of personal development plans. It is written directly to them, to explain the strengths and developmental areas associated with their personality. The report will include suggested action items, examples of how to turn the suggested action items into well-defined goals, as well as goal setting worksheets to do so.

Level 4: Conduct Annual 360s On Leaders
Customers in level 4 further support leadership development by conducting annual 360s on their leaders. The 360 Leadership Review is designed to collect feedback for leaders from their manager(s), peers, and direct reports, for the purpose of leadership development. The feedback is collected in the form of ratings on leadership competencies as well as comments. The main participant as well as the raters will all complete the same assessment so that a comparison can be made between how the main participant perceives their leadership competencies and how they are perceived by the raters. The report can then be used to determine which competencies require development and to create a focused action plan.
