The 360 Leadership Review is designed to collect feedback for leaders from their manager(s), peers, and direct reports, for the purpose of leadership development. The feedback is collected in the form of ratings on leadership competencies as well as comments. This infographic explains how McQuaig's 360 compares to others on the market.
The leader, or subject of the review is labelled as the “Main Participant”. All other parties providing feedback are labelled as “Raters”. The main participant as well as the raters will all complete the same assessment so that a comparison can be made between how the main participant perceives their leadership competencies and how they are perceived by the raters. To learn more about sending assessments see How do I send a 360?
A minimum of 3 primary leadership competencies can be selected, up to a maximum of 8. Each primary competency includes 2 secondary competencies. This resource includes definitions for all of the leadership competencies that can be selected.
For each secondary competency, there are a number of descriptive phrases. The 360 asks all raters “how should [insert participant name] change their behaviour?” in terms of each descriptive phrase and are provided the following options to select from: Much Less, Less, No Change, More, Much More. This is a unique rating scale that is designed to produce more actionable feedback. See How do I generate a 360 report? For each descriptive phrase, the rater is able to input a comment to provide context for their rating. In addition, they are given the opportunity at the end of the assessment to provide general comments. Results can be used to guide leadership development and also plan for the future.
